Driver Profile January 09 - Livia Forian

Livia Forianliviaf

This time we have a very determined eighteen year old from Auckland with an ambition the size of the moon and a very nice car to boot. We're glad to say we are very proud of Livia and the effort she is putting into her vehicle and her keen enthusiasm to get involved in motorsports!

When did you begin to be involved with the car scene?
About four years ago now,  i first made friends in a car club called Tricked out Performance and then it all started from there.

What was your first event/completed project?
To be honest the Evo, my first project the Ute didn’t get much stuff happen to it due to other commitments so the Evo is the first (nearly) completed project.

Can you mention your most memorable/embarrassing/uplifting moment in the scene?
Getting the Evo, I have always been in love with them, I have always bragged about them, and I finally got one.  So definitely the most uplifting moment in the scene.

What was the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
What doesn’t break you only makes you stronger, and never give upon your dreams…it may take a while to reach them. But in the end you will reach them.

Any advice to other ladies out there who want to get into the same thing as you?
Go for it, even if you don’t have a fabulous car, it’s the passion that counts. I didn’t have a car at all for a while but I still followed my dream of owning an Evo and being able to be more involved in the car scene.

What is your favourite make/model of car/motorbike?
Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR in gun metal grey.

Who inspired you to get into this?
My guy friends in school, they used to be obsessed over cars and they got me into them.

Name your favourite place to race/drag/rally/fix cars?
(Legal of course!) - To be honest I don’t have any places I like to race yet as I haven't raced yet! but I am getting there! So check up on me in a few months time! and fixing cars? wherever when ever :-)

Tell us about your Evo Livia?
Well it’s a 1994 GSR Evolution 2  it has:
Garret TO4 Turbo
10.5mm Taylor Race Leads
Rebuilt Evo 2 RS Gearbox
A Turbosmart Type 2 veeport BOV
Turbosmart Eboost 1
Custom tune length extractors
38mm Tial Gate
3inch down pipe
Full 3" Exhaust
18 inch DTM 099
Dobi Superlow Springs with GAB damper adjustable shocks
Aftermarket stabilizer bars
Cusco Strut Braces and just had a full re spray done.

Any plans for the Evo in the future?
I am intending to forge it in the next month or so, also I am doing little bits and pieces on the interior after under the bonnet is ready.

On the average day, where would we find you?
On the beach or hanging out with my friends or cleaning the Evo.

In your eyes, what has been your biggest achievement to date?
Definitely buying my Evo, with out a doubt that is my biggest achievement to date.

Is there anyone you would like to thank?
Liam for all his support! Blair at Import Customs for re spraying the whole car and working extra hard on it for the Nats. All the Wheels and Heels Girlys! You guys are wonderful and love you all xo

What is the next event that will we spot you at?
Hopefully the Jamboree…might even give the track a try!

What do you see happening with your sport/industry in the future?
I am hoping the whole "boy racer" thing that everyone seems to portray us as does lift up a bit as some of us are actually car enthusiasts and I would like to see more girls out there getting into the drag racing and also more people getting involved in charity cruises.
